Frankel heads 71 entries for the Coral-Eclipse Stakes at Sandown on 7 July.

Henry Cecil's brilliant colt is set to tackle a mile and a quarter for the first time at some stage this season and the midsummer feature at the Esher track is one of the races being considered.

There is a stellar entry for the Eclipse which offers the first opportunity the Classic generation have to take on their elders at the top level.

The list includes last year's winner So You Think and current 2000 Guineas favourite Camelot.

They are among 22 possibles from the Aidan O'Brien stable along with other top performers such as Excelebration and St Nicholas Abbey.

The race has also attracted four entries from France, topped by the easy Prix Ganay winner, Cirrus Des Aigles.

Frankel's owner Khalid Abdullah also has the Roger Charlton-trained Cityscape, winner of the Dubai Sheema Classic, 2000 Guineas runner Top Offer, and Twice Over, the Eclipse hero in 2010.

Other fascinating entries Monterosso, winner of the 2012 Dubai World Cup for Godolphin, and The Queen's Carlton House, who has not been seen finishing fourth in the Irish Derby last summer.
