The connections of impressive Fred Darling winner Moonstone Magic have stumped up £30,000 to add the progressive filly to the field for the Qipco 1000 Guineas at Newmarket on Sunday.

The Trade Fair filly was unraced as a juvenile but has won both her starts this term on soft ground.

An eight-length winner at Leicester in mid-April, she followed up in tremendous style in the Newbury fillies' Classic trial eight days later.

Kimpton trainer Ralph Beckett was insistent that his charge - who show a pronounced knee action - would not be risked on a sound surface at this stage of her career, but conditions at HQ are likely to be on the slow side this weekend.

"They are forecast more rain over the next 36 hours with showers for the weekend," said Beckett.

"Newmarket say it will be good ground at best and it is a shade of odds-on to be slower than that given the forecast, in which case we really felt we should run.

"It may be quick running her back again, but she seems to have recovered from her exertions at Newbury so it is the right thing to do."

Ante-post favourite Maybe is among 21 fillies left in the race.

The daughter of Galileo heads the market thanks to going through her juvenile campaign unbeaten.

She won five times, culminating in the Group One Moyglare Stud Stakes at the Curragh at the end of August.

Trainer Aidan O'Brien has three other possibles in Leopardstown 1,000 Guineas Trial winner Homecoming Queen, Up and Wonderful.

Lightening Pearl, winner of the Cheveley Park Stakes, could try to give County Meath handler Ger Lyons Classic glory while the other Irish-trained entries are Jim Bolger's Alla Speranza, David Wachmans's Fire Lily and Kevin Prendergast's La Collina.

Mashoora, winner of the Prix Imprudence at Maisons-Laffitte this spring and trained by Jean-Claude Rouget, is the sole remaining French filly.

Godolphin have a strong hand in the shape of Discourse and Lyric Of Light, who both have 100% records for trainer Mahmood Al Zarooni.

Discourse won the Sweet Solera Stakes on the second of her two starts while Lyric Of Light's three successes included the May Hill Stakes at Doncaster and the Shadwell Fillies' Mile at Newmarket.

Also among the home contingent are Diala, Gray Pearl, Laugh Out Loud, Lily's Angel, Nayarra, Radio Gaga, Starscope, Sunday Times and The Fugue.
