Drying conditions at Leopardstown have prompted Colm Murphy to run his star mare Voler La Vedette in Thursday's John Mulhern Galmoy Hurdle at Gowran Park.
The eight-year-old has won each of her three starts this season and connections had been considering a crack at Sunday's Irish Champion Hurdle at Leopardstown.
But Murphy feels two miles on good ground would be against his charge, so she will instead take her chance in the three-mile Galmoy Hurdle, where she will face just four rivals.
"They still haven't had any rain at Leopardstown and the weather has made up our minds to run tomorrow instead," said Murphy.
"She's settling so well in her races now and showed she stays three miles well when she won over Christmas.
"This looked a better opportunity for her than running on Sunday, but there is no easy option and it's a proper little race tomorrow.
"She seems to have come out of her last race well and we'll see what happens.
"Tomorrow will tell us a lot more about where we're going with her."
Although she faces only a handful of rivals, Voler La Vedette should be given plenty to think about, with the resurgent Zaidpour in the line-up.
Although disappointing at the end of his novice year, the Willie Mullins inmate has impressed on his first two starts this season.
Benash, Chicago Grey and Whatuthink complete the line-up.
