Godolphin have entered both Lost In The Moment and Cavalryman in the Emirates Melbourne Cup at Flemington on 1 November, for which there have been 163 nominations.

Sheikh Mohammed's operation are without a win in Australia's biggest race yet have gone close on a number of occasions with Central Park, Give The Slip and Crime Scene.

Both entries are trained by Saeed bin Suroor with Lost In The Moment finishing second in the Goodwood Cup and running well in the Ebor this season.

Cavalryman has struggled in Germany the last twice since finishing second to Jukebox Jury, who is also entered, at Newmarket in June.

"Lost In The Moment ran very well to be second in a Group Two at Goodwood and also ran well in the Ebor," said Bin Suroor.

"I think the faster ground in Australia will help him a lot, it's the key to him and it wasn't quick enough at York. On good ground he will run well and he will love two miles.

"Cavalryman is by Halling but we have been disappointed with him so far this season.

"We've been taking him to Germany and we hope that running over two miles might give him a chance."

Luca Cumani has four entries in Drunken Sailor, Bauer, Manighar and Sahara Sun while Brian Ellison has entered Ebor winner Moyenne Corniche and Saptapadi.

Modun, Dangerous Midge, Red Cadeaux, Bob Le Beau, Sense Of Purpose and Meeznah are others of note among a strong European contingent, which also includes last year's winner Americain.
