Workforce is returning to full fitness following his Longchamp triumph - but plans remain fluid regarding the colt's future.

The Michael Stoute-trained three-year-old supplemented his runaway Epsom Derby success with a similarly important victory in the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe at the beginning of the month.

Stoute has adopted a softly-softly approach with Workforce since his French foray.

Connections of the Khalid Abdullah-owned son of King's Best will, however, not discuss the possibility of running him in the Breeders' Cup Turf until next week at the earliest.

Stoute said: ‘We've just let him chill out since the Arc. I wanted him to have a quiet week.

‘We haven't discussed his programme for the remainder of the season, and we're not likely to do that until after the weekend.

‘You could see he had travelled, but it is difficult to determine whether the Arc had taken as much out of him as the Derby - it is really hard to say.

‘I would think he's a lot stronger in himself in October than he was in June.

‘He has perked up, but plans will revolve around the horse and his owner's wishes,’ the Freemason Lodge handler told the Telegraph.
