Contredanse, trained by Luca Cumani and ridden by Kieren Fallon, won the Italian Oaks at San Siro.

The daughter of Danehill Dancer defeated Richard Hannon's Middle Club to give British raiders a one-two in the Group Two contest.

It was a similar story in the Premio Carlo Vittadini, though Cumani had to settle for minor honours with Summit Surge.

The six-year-old was second behind the Michael Jarvis-trained Pressing, ridden by Neil Callan, who also won the race last year.

Fanunalter, trained in Newmarket by Italian-born Marco Botti, was fourth.
