Kevin Prendergast reports Termagant on course for the Irish 1000 Guineas at the Curragh next Sunday.

The Powerscourt filly will bid to defend a 100% record in the Classic after winning both of her races as a two-year-old, including the Group One Moyglare Stud Stakes over the track last August.

'She's doing very well, we're very happy with her,' said the County Kildare trainer.

'She was very slow as we had a very cold winter. She suffered a bit from it but seems to be coming very good now and is working nicely.'

Prendergast also intends to saddle Crystal Gal in the race after she finished third to Lady Springbank in the Leopardstown 1,000 Guineas Trial.

'The owner wants her to run and hopefully she'll run respectably. She's in good shape as well,' he added.

Prendergast hopes to run Recharge in the other Group One race on Sunday's card, the Tattersalls Gold Cup though he was five lengths behind likely rival Fame And Glory over the course and distance earlier in the month.

'He's come on a good bit, and he will need to if he is to compete with Fame And Glory,' he confirmed.
