Jigalo gave Joanna Morgan a valuable win when holding off the late thrust of Alpine Eagle in the 3.ie Handicap Hurdle.
Not surprisingly in a 25-runner field there was plenty of scrimmaging and there were even two casualties on the flat.
Mr Clyde travelled strongly into the straight but there were a few going even better in behind, with Davy Condon going best on Jigalo (12-1).
He took two lengths out of the field but Jessica Harrington's Alpine Eagle, the 7-1 favourite, found another gear close home and only went down by a neck.
Eagle's Pass ran well under a big weight to claim third with Total Excitement fourth.
Morgan said: 'He has deserved that as he has been creeping up the handicap without winning. He loves that quick ground - he has won in Dundalk and loves that surface.
'The Galway Hurdle is a possible race for him and he may go chasing at some stage too.'
