Paul Nolan is confident Joncol will give a good account of himself when he lines up in the John Durkan Memorial Punchestown Chase on Sunday.

The six-year-old won three of his four starts over fences during his novice campaign and ran third in a Grade One event at the Punchestown Festival.

He found only subsequent Paddy Power Gold Cup hero Tranquil Sea too good on his return to action at Naas in October and he steps back up in trip this weekend.

'He'll run on Sunday, all going well, and he's only a six-year-old so I'm hoping he's the horse in the yard that might have the most improvement in him when he fills into his frame,' Nolan told At The Races.

'He seems to be an awful lot better and stronger in himself this year, so we're very hopeful for him for his coming few races.'
