John Oxx has refuted suggestions that insurance costs will rule Sea The Stars out of the Breeders' Cup - with no decision on the record-breaking colt's participation due to be made until the end of next week.

Oxx reports the six-time Group One winner to have taken his Qatar Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe victory within his stride, but is in no rush to commit the dual Classic winner to a final hurrah in California next month.

Oxx said: ‘There has been no decision yet. We will let the dust settle and it will probably be the end of next week before we know any more.

‘I am not involved in the insurance side of things but you don't need any extra insurance to travel a horse - and horses travel all of the time.

‘He has done all we can ask of him. The Breeders' Cup isn't until 7 November and you have to
wonder if it would be fair to him, and what would be gained by it.

‘He is in such great shape that he probably could carry on, but you have to wonder if it would be right to ask him.’
