Age of Aquarius out of English Leger

Johnny Murtagh will now ride Changingoftheguard

Aidan O'Brien's likely favourite Age Of Aquarius will not run in Saturday's English St Leger at Doncaster.

The horse was found to be lame on Thursday morning.

O'Brien confirmed: ‘We were not 100 percent happy with him after his canter this morning and decided not to declare him.’

Stable jockey Johnny Murtagh will still ride in the race and switches to Changingoftheguard.

That leaves just eight to go to post, with Godolphin's Kite Wood now a likely favourite.

Peter Chapple-Hyam's Great Voltigeur winner Monitor Closely was added to the line-up on Monday at a cost of £45,000, and he also stands his ground.

John Oxx's Mourayan and the Barry Hills-trained Above Average complete the list for the Group One contest.
