Godolphin's Kite Wood heads the 11 entries left at the latest forfeit stage for the Ladbrokes St Leger at Doncaster on 12 September.
Impressive winner of the Bahrain Trophy at Newmarket and the Geoffrey Freer at Newbury against older horses, the former Michael Jarvis-trained colt appears to have solid credentials.
Saeed bin Suroor could also run Mastery, second in the Great Voltigeur to Peter Chapple-Hyam's Monitor Closely.
If Chapple-Hyam's colt were to take his chance he would need to be supplemented, along with Godolphin's Urban Poet, scheduled to run this weekend.
Henry Cecil's 19-length maiden winner Manifest is another for whom connections would need to stump up the £45,000 supplementary fee by 7 September.
However, Cecil and owner Prince Khalid Abdullah do have King Edward VII Stakes winner Father Time engaged.
Aidan O'Brien not surprisingly holds a strong hand with Age Of Aquarius, second in the Grand Prix de Paris on his last start, and Changingoftheguard, an unlucky second in the Ebor, heading his team.
O'Brien could also run Johann Zoffany, Rockhampton and Von Jawlensky.
John Oxx, who has lowered O'Brien's colours on more than one occasion this year with Sea The Stars, may run Mourayan, third in the Irish Derby.
The Barry Hill-trained Above Average and John Dunlop's Tactic, owned by Sheikh Hamdan Al Maktoum, complete the entries.
‘Mr Dunlop wanted to leave the horse in the St Leger and I will have to discuss whether he takes his chance with the trainer and Sheikh Hamdan,’ said Angus Gold, racing manager to the owner.
‘I think that his run in the Gordon Stakes was fair, but it was a better effort when he was second to Kite Wood at Newmarket.
‘He's a nice horse, but he has a bit to find on the formbook as things stand.
‘It remains to be seen whether an extra two furlongs can turn him into a St Leger winner, but we will decide if we go to Doncaster with him in due course.’
