John Oxx's brilliant colt Sea The Stars is officially the top-rated horse in the world following the latest edition of the World Thoroughbred Rankings.

The son of Cape Cross, rated 131, has already won the 2000 Guineas, the Derby at Epsom and the Coral-Eclipse this season and is currently rated 3lb superior to Rip Van Winkle and 4lb ahead of Irish Derby winner Fame And Glory and Godolphin's Gladiatorus.

Senior Irish Turf Club flat handicapper, Garry O'Gorman, said: 'It is exciting to see three Irish three-year-olds acknowledged as the best racehorses in the world, especially as all three appear to be improving.'

King George winner Conduit is joint fifth with American wonder filly Zenyatta, while Mastercraftsman and Rachel Alexandra are two of nine horses rated 122.
