Jockey Matt O'Connor was taken to hospital for treatment on a 'serious head injury' after he was knocked unconscious after a bad fall at Thurles.
The conditional rider, who is attached to Colm Murphy's stable, came to grief aboard Walkin Aisy at the fifth-last fence of the Templemore Beginners Chase.
O'Connor was taken to Clonmel Hospital immediately after the incident, but was transferred to Cork University Hospital on Thursday evening.
Dr Adrian McGoldrick, chief medical officer of the Irish Turf Club, told the Racing Post: 'Matt has a serious head injury. He has had some scans and is having more detailed ones.
'He has been ventilated and is being transferred from Clonmel to the neuro-surgical unit in Cork University Hospital.'
