Silk Hall became Alan King’s his 100th winner of the campaign at Newbury.
The Barbury Castle handler currently resides in third position behind Paul Nicholls and Nicky Henderson in the National Hunt trainers' championship, having amassed over £1million in prize-money.
He moved onto three figures as 13-2 chance Silk Hall led at the second-last before running out a striking 14-length winner of the Arbuthnot Juvenile Novices' Hurdle.
King, who also secured a double at Doncaster later in the day, said: ‘This is only the second time I have got 100 winners.
‘It happened about a week earlier last year but we have been held up with the weather this time.’
He added of Silk Hall: ‘That is more like it. I don't know why he bled last time but had not done it before or since, and I thought if he didn't bleed today then he would go close.
‘He has been working with Katchit and going well at home.
‘I didn't enter him for Cheltenham after he bled but he will go to Aintree instead.’
According To Dick followed up last Friday's Sandown victory with a hard-fought success in the Arkell's 3B Bitter National Hunt Novices' Hurdle.
Richard Johnson was hard at work over the final three flights aboard the 11-4 chance but ensured he claimed a three-quarters-of-a-length win, after which a trip to the Cheltenham Festival was ruled out by connections.
Trainer Philip Hobbs said: ‘Richard said it was more of a test of stamina at Sandown and they have crawled and sprinted here.
‘Part of the reason of running today was to see if he stayed, but we still don't know.
‘He is still relatively green and careful at some of his hurdles.
‘He won't go to Cheltenham but Aintree is a possibility - he is very much a chaser for next year.’
Another Sandown winner from last week turned out in the Securon Handicap Chase, with Nicky Henderson's Pepsyrock following up as the 11-10 favourite.
Henderson commented: ‘He went up 12lb for winning last week so I had to run here, but he'll have a break and be freshened up now.’
Jim Old has the totesport Cesarewitch at Newmarket in the autumn as a target for Gala Evening (16-1) after the seven-year-old repeated his win of two years ago in the Securon Handicap Hurdle.
Old said: ‘He has been so sick and also doesn't like heavy ground.
‘He was in good form on the all-weather last spring and we then tried to get him ready for the
Cesarewitch but we ran out of time.
‘He will go back on the Flat at some point as I would love to win the Cesarewitch with him.’
Johnny Farrelly was hard at work aboard 11-4 favourite Very Cool with five fences to jump but his persistence paid off with top honours in the Arkell's Brewery Novices' Handicap Chase.
Limerick Boy qualified for the Christies Foxhunter Chase at Cheltenham when taking the Rickety Bridge Hunters' Chase as the 10-11 favourite, while Oscar Owen was a 50-1 shock winner of the Sandford Springs Golf Club Classic Conditional Jockeys' Novices' Handicap Hurdle.
