Supreme Novices' Hurdle gamble Ainama is unlikely to take up an option at Newbury this weekend and will instead head to Kempton on February 21.
Nicky Henderson's charge has been all the rage for the Cheltenham Festival opener in recent days and is as low as 7-1.
Although he holds an entry at Newbury, the Dovecote Novices' Hurdle has now emerged as his preferred race.
‘It's unlikely he'll go to Newbury on Saturday,’ said Frank Berry, racing manager for owner JP McManus.
‘He started quite late this season so we'll wait until Kempton in two weeks with him.
‘He came out of the race well and he's in good form.
‘It was a really professional performance and he did it nicely enough. He's got a bit of catching up to do experience-wise but everything is good at the moment with him.
‘The other horse (Hebridean) would have been much better on the Flat but it just shows what can happen when you put some hurdles in their way.’
