Paul Eddery has been appointed assistant trainer to his brother Pat but will also continue his career in the saddle.
He has ridden over 1,500 winners during a 30-year spell, including two July Cups on Cadeaux Genereux and Owington and a Lockinge Stakes on Prismatic.
'I'm really enjoying being assistant to Pat. I've ridden work for him since he started and Pat offered me the position of assistant, which I was delighted to accept,' said the Newmarket-based jockey.
'I've no immediate plans to retire from the saddle but obviously I can't go on for ever, so this was a long-term opportunity which seemed perfect.'
