Sam Thomas has been given the go-ahead to return to the saddle on Thursday after receiving the results of Tuesday's concussion test.

Thomas was knocked out after his mount, Naxox, came to grief in an extended two-mile chase at Chepstow last Wednesday, forcing him to have a spell on the sidelines.

However, he will be back in action at Taunton tomorrow and his agent Sam Stronge says the Gold Cup-winning jockey is relishing a return.

'We have just found out he has passed the tests so he will be back riding at Taunton on Thursday,' said Stronge.

'He is already booked up for a couple of rides for Paul (Nicholls) and we will see what else we can pick up. He is delighted to be back and it was a bit unfortunate he missed last Saturday as he would have been on Free World at Sandown who won impressively.'
