Cork's six-race fixture gets under way with the Newmarket Maiden at 4.10 and Dermot Weld's Scarlet O'Hara might prove the one to beat if building on her debut second at the Curragh.

The Sadler's Wells filly ran green that day but the experience is expected to have done her the power of good and she clearly acts on rain-softened ground.

She may have most to fear from Soul Murmur, who flopped on his all-weather debut but is capable of a good deal better than that.

The Navigation Road Rated Race is marginally the most valuable heat on the card and the pot could go to Azaboy.

Andrew Kinsella's progressive three-year-old is likely to be brimming with confidence following his opening success at Gowran and we may not have seen the best of him yet.

With only 5lb between the highest and lowest rated in the field, however, it's hard to be over-confident and Essexford and recent Curragh winner Un Hinged are capable of making their presence felt.

The Tracey Collins-trained Melanesia is worth a second look on her return from a lengthy absence, while Poppyfield wasn't entirely disgraced in a Listed race at Dundalk last time.

Nightswimmer has shown promise in three qualifying runs and looks feasibly treated in the Derrinstown Stud Apprentice Handicap, while Evening Rushour, another handicap newcomer, is fancied to go close off an initial mark of 73 in the second division of the Dromahane Handicap.

There is also action at Tramore where a seven-race card features the Madra Dog Foods Handicap.

All Heart will prove popular having completed a chase/Flat double in recent weeks but Marseillais will provide stiff opposition if he can repeat the form of last month's second behind the classy Sesenta.

Niall Madden looks to have a chance of picking up some prize money with Scalini's in the www.tramore-racecourse.com Handicap Chase, but his other representative on the card, Brochure, has more solid credentials in the Tramore Amusement Park Maiden Hurdle.
