Kevin Prendergast is eyeing a possible tilt at Newmarket's Cheveley Park Stakes for Shimah following her fine effort in defeat at the Curragh on Sunday.
The daughter of Storm Cat ran out an impressive winner on her debut and had little trouble following up in Listed company next time.
She was slightly unlucky when beaten half a length by Again in the Group One Moyglare Stud Stakes at the weekend and Prendergast hopes she is up to winning a top-level contest before the season is out.
‘She did nothing wrong in the Moyglare and I was very happy with the run,’ said the County Kildare handler.
‘She travelled well and when the winner started drifting, we were forced to go on her outside to challenge.
‘If we had been able to go up the inside we may have seen a different result, but she ran a good race and she has come out of it in good form.
‘We will see how she is in the next few weeks, but the Cheveley Park at Newmarket is a definite option if she continues to please us.’
