David Wachman is concerned about the ground for Great War Eagle, who makes his seasonal debut in the Aussie Rules EBF Tetrarch Stakes at the Curragh tomorrow.

The field of six includes Bruges, who puts his unbeaten run on the line after winning both his starts last summer.

Completing the sextet are Capt Chaos, Hanoverian Baron, Mr Medici and Rock Of Rochelle.

'The ground's a bit softer than I would have liked, but we have to start him somewhere,' said Cashel-based Wachman.

'He's done quite well over the winter and we'll make a plan after this.'

Great War Eagle won one of his three races as a juvenile, winding up by finishing fourth to Jupiter Pluvius in a Group Three at Leopardstown in October.
