Al Eile is to have a break and will not run at York next week where he had a choice of engagements.
The dual Aintree Hurdle winner is in the totesport Ebor and the Weatherbys Insurance Lonsdale Cup but will stay at home, where he will be aimed at the November Handicap at Leopardstown.
'I entered him for York but we are not travelling. He's not going to run over there at all,' said trainer John Queally.
'The Northumberland Plate took its toll on him and I'm just not happy with him. Basically, he needs a holiday so we are going to give him a bit of a break.'
Al Eile has been beaten over hurdles at Tipperary since finishing fourth at Newcastle on stamina-sapping ground. I'll have him back for the November Handicap, the last big handicap on the final day of the Irish Flat season,' added the Dungarvan-based handler.
Al Eile won that race in 2004 and was runner-up last season.
