Adamant Approach is back over hurdles tomorrow

Day six of the Festival gets underway at 2.25 when a seven race programme is headlined by the E55,000 Freshways H’cap Hurdle. Sixteen are set to compete in the 2m 5f feature.

Adamant Approach must concede huge amounts of weight all round here and even with Patrick Mullins claiming 5Ibs off his 12 stone burden, the 13yo faces an unenviable task.

Monty Mint is an each-way option here. Regular partner, David Flannery teams up with the 9yo again after a good effort at Cork just over 3 weeks back when he defeated that useful yardstick, On The Net.

The Premier Nursery is next in line in terms of prize-money with a E40,000 pot. Artic Cry has blinkers on now and that can help keep his mind on the job as he bids to outpoint his seven rivals.

Elsewhere another couple of races on the level go to make up the E30,000 Jackpot. In the first of these, a h’cap at 4.30, Mountain Snow can atone for a narrow loss earlier in the week.

Kieren Fallon’s presence on Wassily Kandinsky will ensure the support of many in the 2yo maiden. The son of Montjeu is likely to relish this mile and a hundred yards distance.
