Downpatrick stages a seven-race mixed card on Wednesday with the action getting underway at 2.25pm.

The onset of autumn sees the return of chasing to the track and there are two decent beginners' contests over the larger obstacles.

Decent dual purpose performer Rooftop Protest bids to open his account in the RHM Bakeries Beginners Chase.

Tom Hogan's charge ran well on his last start over fences when third to Anno Jubilo at Galway and a repeat of that could be enough.

The concluding Denny/Kerry Maid EBF Beginners Chase also looks a decent contest and Martinstown may prove the one to beat.

He was untidy on his chasing debut at Roscommon but was better at Kilbeggan last time when chasing home Urban Rebel and looks up to taking this now.

Grange Melody was at the centre of some controversy here last time when veering left in the closing stages and hampering Craughwell Suas. They lock horns again in the Drench Handicap Hurdle.

The consistent Talkingtonbates can get his head in front in the opening Coca Cola Maiden Hurdle.

The apprentices get a chance to shine in the two Flat contests.

Dermot Weld looks to have a good chance with Hearthstead Dream in the Derrinstown Stud Apprentice Handicap while Always On Top looks the one to follow in the Mace NI Champion Apprentice Handicap.
