Drever making good progress

Owner Graham Wylie reports 2005 World Hurdle winner Inglis Drever to be making good progress in his recovery from a tendon injury.

Having made a winning reappearance at Wetherby last October, he went on to edge out Baracouda at Newbury before falling at the second last in the Long Walk Hurdle at Chepstow.

Subsequent examination showed that he had suffered a tendon strain in his near foreleg after the latter contest, an injury that curtailed his campaign.

Despite pleasing connections with his condition, Wylie has warned that the team will take things one step at a time with their main flag-bearer.

"Inglis Drever jumped a hurdle the other day but we'll keep him nice and steady as he's had a leg injury and you might only see him out two or three times this season," Wylie told Racing UK.

The prominent owner also had news of his powerful string and suggested punters can expect to see the majority in action towards the end of next month.

"They're more forward than I thought they were," he explained.

"They've been cantering and done a lot of road work but most of them will not be out until towards the end of October."
