Metropolitan Man has been ruled out of the totesport.com Winter Hill Stakes after suffering a late setback.
The three-year-old was due to tackle the Windsor feature for trainer David Simcock but he will now be re-routed to the Group Three Strensall Stakes at York on September 9.
'He spread a plate during the night and has just pricked his foot,' said the Newmarket handler.
'It's nothing too serious, just a minor setback but enough to keep him out tonight.
'He will run in the Strensall in two weeks now.'
