Preview of Wednesday's meet at Gowran

Middlemarch caught the eye for all the wrong reasons in the Galway Hurdle last Thursday but can successfully revert to the Flat in the featured 9 1/2f handicap at Gowran's evening fixture beginning at 5.35.

A broken stirrup leather early on at Ballybrit gave Davy Russell an

John Oxx and Michael Kinane teamed up for a double at Cork on Monday, and the pair may repeat the feat in the maiden races with So Well Red and Eyshal.

So Well Red made a very promising debut at the Curragh earlier this year when just denied by Sharapova but subsequently got stuck in the mud there on Guineas weekend.

Eyshal has also raced at the Curragh on both starts to-date, and the Green Desert juvenile looks the part having finished just 3L off Teofilo last time.
