Five horses have been declared for tomorrow’s Clonmel Oil Chase at Clonmel.
Despite the small field a fascinating clash is in prospect between last year’s winner, Rathgar Beau, trained by Eamon Sheehy and War of Attrition.
Rathgar Beau won four Grade two races last season and signed off with a memorable win over Moscow Flyer in the Grade One Kerrygold Champion Chase at the Punchestown Festival in April.
War of Attrition is the rising star in the steeplechase ranks who won the Swordlestown Cup at the Punchestown Festival in April and began this season with an excellent victory over Cheltenham Gold Cup winner, Kicking King, in the Daily Star Chase at Punchestown last month.
Alcapone, Well Presented and Strong Project complete the line up for the €60,000 Clonmel Oil Chase.
