Japan trip awaits Ouija

Ed Dunlop’s Ouija Board looks likely to take up her invitation for the Japan Cup in Tokyo on November 27.

Last year's Epsom Oaks winner returned to Newmarket safely after narrowly failing to record back-to-back successes in the Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Turf at Belmont Park last Saturday.

Ouija Board has been restricted to just three starts this season through injury, but as long as she remains in good heart, her trainer is tempted by a trip to the Far East.

"She seems very well and arrived back in England on Monday.  I am happy with her condition and she seems fresh and well,"  Dunlop told the Racing Post.

"As long as she remains in good condition, we are going to accept the invitation to go to Japan.

"We will see how she is over the next fortnight - I think the day she has to fly there is November 16. The ground will be quicker in Japan and, as she likes decent ground, it will be more favourable than at Belmont.

It's also over a mile and a half, which should suit, although she'll have to run against colts.
