Juddmonte International third Maraahel will be fitted with blinkers in Saturday's Emirates Airline Champion Stakes at Newmarket.
The Hamdan Al Maktoum-owned colt was only beaten a neck and a head by Electrocutionist and Zenno Rob Roy on the Knavesmire, and connections hope the application of blinkers will help bring about further improvement.
"He will wear blinkers and I rode him the other morning with them on," his jockey Richard Hills told At The Races.
"They will just help him concentrate a little bit more. He travels very well in his races and we just need him to finish a little better.
"It is a very tough race, but I think he will run well."
"Maraahel has since finished third in the Strensall Stakes having opened his account for the season in the Group Three Huxley Stakes at Chester in May."
"A lot of these horses win their Listed and Group Threes and they then have to progress," Hills continued.
"It is a big difference winning a Group Three to a Group One, and he hasn't done that yet, but he nearly did it at York and that was a tremendous run.
"By putting the blinkers on we will try and squeeze a bit more out of him."
