Rakti ready for grand finale

Michael Jarvis' six-times Group One winner, Rakti, is back working ahead of a three-race autumn campaign across the globe before being retired to stud.

The six-year-old was given a short break after being beaten by
Valixir in the Queen Anne Stakes at Royal Ascot at York, but is now being trained for the final three races of a glorious career.

Beginning with the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes at Newmarket on September 24, where he will be bidding to defend his crown, Rakti will also take in the Breeders' Cup Mile at Belmont Park on October 29, before heading to the Far East for a third crack at the Hong Kong Mile on December 11.

"He's back in work and was only off for two or three weeks after York," said Michael Jarvis.

"He'll have a racecourse gallop about two weeks before the QEII. There's no point in getting him too fit too early. The QEII is not until the end of September.

"Then after that there's the Breeders' Cup Mile and the Hong Kong Mile. That's the plan."
