Imperial Stride will bid to continue Sir Michael Stoute's domination of the Daily Record Scottish Derby at Ayr tomorrow. After saddling Kalaman and Princely Venture to land Scotland's only Group Two race over the last two years, Stoute will rely on the hat-trick seeking four-year-old for further glory.
Imperial Stride heads into the mile-and-a-quarter race at the top of his game after he streaked home by 17 lengths at Newmarket at the end of last month. That victory came on the back of his 25-1 surprise in the Wolferton Handicap at Royal Ascot at York.
His chief rival looks to be the Aidan O'Brien-trained Powerscourt, who will be the mount of Kieren Fallon, with Marcus Tregoning's Alkaadhem and last year's Chester Vase winner Red Lancer completing the four-runner field.
