Albert should be Motivated in Dante

A field of six will line up in the totesport Dante Stakes at York on Thursday, with last season's Racing Post first and second - Motivator and Albert Hall - set to reoppose.

The former, trained by Michael Bell, had two and a half lengths to lengths to spare at Doncaster last October and is a general 9/2 market leader for the Vodafone Epsom Derby on June 4.

Aidan O'Brien's Albert Hall, who along with Motivator is having his first start of the season, teasted success last term in the Juddmonte Beresford Stakes at the Curragh. The other Ballydoyle runner is Falstaff.

Clive Brittain's Kandidate will represent Classic form as he steps up in trip to 10 furlongs after finishing third in the 2000 Guineas at Newmarket last time out.

The line-up is completed by Jeremy Noseda's Proclamation, winner of his only start to date, and the David Elsworth-trained The Geezer, who already has two victories to his name this season.
