Jonjo O'Neill received another booost after what has been a difficult season when Quazar landed the Faucets for Mira Showers Silver Trophy at Cheltenham, with Tony McCoy on board.
The 2-1 joint-favourite tracked clear leader Le Roi Miguel until McCoy closed the gap between the last two fences.
He clinched victory when getting a great leap out of Quazar at the last, where Le Roi Miguel nodded on landing, allowing his rival to stride four lengths clear. It was a length and a half back to Therealbandit.
O'Neill, who chose this race in favour of a trip to Ayr for Quazar, said: "It was a funny race because they let one go and my fellow tends to like a bit of company. He was idling on the run-in and needed a crack or two, but that's him.
Commenting on the general well-being of his team, O'Neill said: "Quazar was our last runner before we shut down when he ran at Kempton on Boxing Day and it seems like an eternity since then. Happily, they're coming along grand now and are all back to themselves, although several are already out in the field."
