Faasel will bid to keep his unbeaten record over jumps intact in the Byrne Group Novices' Hurdle at Kempton Park on Friday.
Nicky Richards' four-year-old has won his three starts over hurdles easily, but he had little to beat on each occasion and he faces a sharp step up in class in the Kempton Grade Two contest.
"We want to get a run into him against the better ones to sharpen him up a bit," the trainer said today.
"Each time he's run his jumping has improved. I think it has sweetened him up nicely to the job. It's a case of so far, so good. He seems in good fettle.
Faasel will be taking on older horses rather than running against his own age group in the Racing Post 100 Favourite Racehorses Juvenile Novices' Hurdle the following day.
"He's not too badly in (on Friday) so we'll take our chance and see what turns up," explained Richards.
Faasel is entered in the JCB Triumph Hurdle and the Fred Winter Juvenile Novices' Handicap Hurdle at Cheltenham, and his Festival plans should be much clearer after Kempton.
