Hedgehunter among National trial entries

Willie Mullins' Hedgehunter, who ran so gamely in last year's Aintree Grand National before coming to grief at the last, is among the entries for the Red Square Vodka Gold Cup at Haydock.

The nine-year-old has been allotted 10st 10lb for the February 19 contest.

Martin Pipe's Therealbandit, second in last Saturday's Pillar Property Chase at Cheltenham, has been allotted 11st 12lb, which is 2lb more than Francois Doumen's First Gold.

Therealbandit is one of 10 entries for Pipe with the Pond House handler also having Paddy Power and Hennessy Gold Cup winner Celestial Gold in the £120,000 contest.

The seven-year-old has been given 11st 7lb for the extended three-and-a-half mile race while last year's winner Jurancon II has 11st.

Paul Nicholls has put in two of his major John Smith's Grand National hopes Royal Auclair (11st 8lb) and Ad Hoc (10st 12lb), as well as one of his totesport Cheltenham Gold Cup entries Heros Collonges (10st 8lb).

Bindaree, winner of the 2002 Grand National, has been given 11st with his trainer Nigel Twiston-Davies having also entered Classic Chase winner Baron Windrush (10st 7lb).
