Mouse Morris' War Of Attrition is set to make his return from injury with a run in the BBA Ireland Opera Hat Novice Chase at Naas on Saturday week.
The six-year-old has been sidelined by a fractured splintbone since winning on his chasing debut at Thurles in November.
Morris plans to have him back in action soon though, with a view to tackling the Irish Independent Arkle Chase at the Cheltenham Festival.
He told the Racing Post: "We got the all-clear to put him back into training before Christmas and he has been working away steadily. I'm pretty confident we'll have him fit for Cheltenham but the question is whether he will have enough experience going there."
