Martin Pipe reached 100 winners in a season for the 19th consecutive time when Time To Roam trotted up in the opening race at Haydock Park today.
The 14-time champion jumps trainer first reached the landmark in the 1986-87 campaign and has achieved three figures every season since.
Time To Roam, the 5-2 joint-favourite, led after the second-last flight in the Muriel Williams Memorial Conditional Jockeys' Handicap Hurdle and drew readily clear for Tom Malone to win as he liked by nine lengths from Heavenly Stride.
Pipe was represented by his son David, who said: "We thought Tom might do it for us at Leicester on Thursday but the horse, Phillipa Yates, made a mistake two out."
"You have to get through the nervous nineties, but 100 is good and the horses are running very well, so let's hope we can keep the purple patch going."
Time To Roam was having his first run for Pipe, having previously been trained in Ireland by Dermot Weld.
"It wasn't the greatest race in the world but he's a bonny little horse and his owners should have a lot of fun with him," Pipe added. "We'll see how he is after this and then we'll look for another race for him."
