The Audi Pretty Polly Stakes is a Group 1 race for the first time this year and the highlight on day two of the Derby Festival meeting, with the first of a seven race card getting underway at 2.10pm. Chorist, who easily made all over course and distance last year in the Blandford Stakes, and Guineas runner-up Alexander Goldrun look the principals in a six runner line-up over ten furlongs.
The Jim Bolger-trained three-year-old has since finished a close-up fourth in the French Oaks at Chantilly, and may have scope for further improvement. The jackpot pool is guaranteed for E20,000, and the 30 runner seven furlongs handicap will prove a tough opening leg with preference for Sigourney and Aidin And Abetting.
The Betfair Curragh Cup has attracted seven runners including last year's winner Maharib but he faces a stiff task against British raiders Dubai Success and The Whistling Teal. Comfort Zone gained a deserved maiden win at Down Royal last Saturday, and has prospects on his handicap debut over ten furlongs against Akilak and Day Ticket.
