Top quality card for Navan on Sunday

The Pierse Contracting Troytown Chase is the centrepiece of a top quality National Hunt card at Navan tomorrow. The first of seven races commences at 12.45pm.

Twenty runners are set to line up for the feature event and picking the winner will be very difficult. Charlie Swan's This Is Serious had a nice prep race when a fast finishing third over hurdles at Punchestown last weekend and must come into the reckoning.

Four of the field contested the naasracecourse.com H'cap Chase three weeks ago when Super Fellow fared best, finishing second to Take Five.

Cheltenham Gold Cup third Harbour Pilot reverts to hurdles when he contests the Ladbrokes H'cap over three miles. He is rated almost two stone lower in this sphere than over fences.

Another Noel Meade charge making his seasonal debut is Mark The Man. This highly promising dual Bumper winner appears to have a simple task on his hurdling debut.

A maximum field lines up for the opening three-year-old Hurdle when it should pay to stick with those that have already proven their ability to jump. Tony Mullins' Dolmur was by far the best of them on the Flat and performed well when second to Callow Lake on his hurdles debut at Clonmel.
