Epsom Oaks winner Casual Look retired after US defeat

This year's Epsom Oaks winner Casual Look has been retired following her defeat at Churchill Downs at the weekend.

Andrew Balding's filly just got the better of Aidan O'Brien's Yesterday to land the classic for the first-season trainer on June 6. She then finished a close third in the Irish equivalent at the Curragh, before running down the field in the Yorkshire Oaks at York.

Owned by the American ambassador to Britain, Will Farish, she had her last European start in the Prix Vermeille at Longchamp where she finished unplaced.

She then embarked on a career in the States in the care of Neil Howard but was out of luck on her two starts, although she did run with credit on both occasions on ground that was not to her liking.
