Dalakhani, winner of the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe, has been retired to the Aga Khan's Gilltown Stud.
The three-year-old also won the Prix Lupin and the Prix du Jockey-Club this season, ends his career as the winner of eight of his nine races. Dalakhani's only defeat came at the hands of the owner's other crack three-year-old Alamshar in the Irish Derby at the Curragh.
Dalakhani will join his half-brother Daylami and 2001 Arc winner Sinndar at the stud.
Studs manager Pat Downes is confident he will prove popular. He said: "Dalakhani is a very exciting addition to the Aga Khan Studs' stallion roster. It is also very pleasing that we have such a high-class son of Darshaan who I am confident will provide a fitting replacement for his great sire. Dalakhani was without doubt an outstanding racehorse with all the attributes we look for in a champion.
