Hourigan aims to make trip north profitable

Racing moves north of the border on Friday to Downpatrick where an all National Hunt card gets underway at 2.45 and Michael Hourigan could make the long journey from Limerick very worth while by completing a treble.

Spin In The Wind runs in the 2m 1f handicap hurdle after running out a very comfortable winner in a Tralee bumper and subsequently kept on well to finish 2nd in a two mile maiden on the level.

Having shown much improvement over 3m 1f at Kilbeggan recently Lantern Leader goes in the 2m 2f beginners chase and should be suited by the significant reduction in distance here.

The Limerick handler sends out an unraced gelding by Moscow Society in the concluding bumper. Thunder Mountain is sure to be fit and ready for this event but with many newcomers in the line-up caution must be exercised.

Christy Roche's Get With It should follow up his Sligo success with another victory in the opening maiden hurdle but at prohibitive odds.

Jessica Harrington's Soraleda looks a solid bet in the 2m 6f maiden hurdle while Cosi Island should be difficult to beat in the novice handicap hurdle if he can improve on his last show at Kilbeggan.
