Denny Chase is the highlight on day three of Tralee Festi

A decent eight race card is the order of the day for the third day of Tralee's August Festival with the Denny Gold Medal Chase the highlight.

The feature may chiefly concern two of the lighter weights, namely Cloudy Bays and Colonel Bradley. Slight preference is for the latter to bring up his hat trick for trainer Charlie Swan.

Again Denny sponsor the Havasnack for the amateur riders. Dermot Weld's Quality Team is undoubtedly the class horse in this year's renewal, however it might be dangerous to assume that this fellow is still as good as his mark, so Masteroffoxhounds, on ground that should suit, looks a reasonable alternative. Royal Alphabet will justifiably have his supporters too.

However both those races are competitive affairs and punters may be best advised to look elsewhere for betting opportunities. For instance, Ballygill Heights, disappointing at Galway, can bounce back to land a weak maiden hurdle.

Darghan can atone for getting turned over at odds-on in Gowran last time by landing the mile maiden whilst Rainbow Pet can step-up on a promising debut in the opener.
