Trio to battle out Eastwood Bookmakers at Downpatrick

The marathon Ulster Cesarewitch Handicap takes centre stage on a mixed card at Downpatrick on Monday afternoon when the first race begins at 2.30pm. Recent Tramore winner Dariole is among the main fancies for the two mile two furlong event, but will be given plenty to think about by Green Magical.

Tom Hogan's charge was staying on best in the closing stages when a little over one length behind Dariole at Tramore and will relish the extra four furlongs of this event.

The Eastwood Bookmakers Race is likely to be the strongest betting race of the day with three closely matched runners set to do battle. Dermot Weld's Kirov King, a recent winner over the course, is the highest rated of the trio, but must concede weight.

Danzig Bay was only touched off in a similar contest at Tramore last week, while Yer Father's Yacht also comes here in decent form having won over hurdles at Cork last time.

Lowlander will be a short price to open his account over hurdles in the opening Maiden. He started favourite for a stronger race at the Galway festival, but was let down by his jumping.
