Classic heroine Russian Rhythm heads a field 14 confirmed today for the Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot on Friday. Sir Michael Stoute's filly defied negative vibes in the build up to the Sagitta 1000 Guineas to get the better of Six Perfections at odds of 12-1.
Punters will get nothing like that next week though and the Freemason Lodge handler has also left in Chic and Fantasize. Newmarket fourth Soviet Song, winner of the Fillies' Mile here last season, could reoppose, as could Duty Paid, Gonfilia and Tante Rose, 10th, 12th and 16th respectively on the Rowley Mile.
The main danger to Stoute's star may come from the Mick Channon-trained Mail The Desert. She has not seen a racetrack since landing the Group One Moyglare Stud Stakes at the Curragh last September.
German raider Diacada, a daughter of Cadeaux Genereux, has been supplemented for the one-mile event.
