Florida Pearl was today reported to be in fine shape ahead of his bid to win the Queen Mother Champion Chase at Cheltenham on Wednesday. The 11-year-old, who won four races last season including the Pertemps King George VI Chase at Kempton, has failed to win in three attempts this season.
Florida Pearl is dropping back to two miles, not having run over the minimum trip since 1997. But Tracey Gilmore, travelling head lad to trainer Willie Mullins, is not worried about the trip.
