Davids Lad appeal set for Monday

The appeal by connections of Davids Lad against the 42-day ban imposed on the gelding at Naas last Sunday will be heard at the Curragh Racecourse on Monday, March 3 at 3pm.

The suspension currently rules Davids Lad out of the Cheltenham Festival and the Martell Cognac Grand National, for which he was the second favourite.

After the horse trailed in last in the Paddy & Helen Cox Memorial Newlands Chase handler Tony Martin was fined €1,000 for using the racecourse as a training ground and jockey Timmy Murphy banned for seven days for insufficient effort.
