Top weekend's racing begins at Naas

A top class weekend of racing gets underway at Naas on Saturday afternoon where the first of seven events is off at 1.15pm. The opening maiden hurdle looks an open race and Journey Unknown gets the vote to win for John Mulhern.

I'vehadit is the one to beat in the three mile novice chase. A fair performer over hurdles, he won well at Limerick at Christmas and should be up to winning from Killultagh Thunder and Native Sessions.

Sacundai and Florida Coast are sure to head the market for the two mile four furlong hurdle and preference is for the former who could prove too strong for the opposition at these weights.

The Irish Racing Writers Novice Hurdle has attracted a large field but very few will count and leading four-year-old Newlands Gold is a confident choice to land the spoils.

Mitchelstown finished a close third in front of a huge crowd at Gowran Park on Thursday and must have a leading chance in the bumper.
