Ascot, Warwick & Uttoxeter meetings called off

Ascot have had to abandon their meeting tomorrow due to a frozen track. The course was due to stage the feature race of the day, the Victor Chandler Chase, but a morning inspection showed the track to be unraceable.

Tomorrow's other jumps meetings at Warwick and Uttoxeter have also been abandoned due to frozen tracks leaving the all-weather cards at Lingfield and Southwell as the only remaining action in Britain.

An equivalent contest to Ascot's Victor Chandler Chase will now be run seven days later on January 18 at Kempton as the Tote Exacta Chase, Chandlers having withdrawn from sponsoring the rescheduled race. The Grade One Tolworth Hurdle, already moved once from Sandown and due to be held at Warwick, will become the Tote Tolworth Hurdle, run at Wincanton, also on Saturday week.
